Portraits were my first love, and are still one of my favorite subjects.  I complete a portrait in two sessions of an hour or less.

Abandoned trucks, tractors, barns and shed are another favorite subject.  Man made objects gain character and meaning with age and hard use.

Dramatic Clouds are an endless fascination for me.  See more of them on the right and below!

Clouds Over Saranac.

Colgate Camp on Upper Saranac Lake is another annual family retreat, with views of the high peaks and wonderful clouds.

Seal Cove

Seal Cove, on Mount Desert Island Maine, is a special place where I go to paint and relax every Summer.

Dodge Point overlooking Seal Cove and Blue Hill Bay on Mount Desert Island is the pendant to "Seal Cove"

I am an unabashed rock freak, and love to do portraits of individual boulders and rock formations. scarred by time.

Rock faces fascinate me for their natural abstract patterns of fracturing, color striations and incident light and shade.  In some I see life references..

I have lived many years in the Connecticut Valley, in Conway,  Deerfield, Northampton, and now Monson.  It is a much painted area.

Views of Mt Greylock and its surroundings in Williamsotwn, MA, my Berkshire family home

Views of old mill buildings with rich aged coloring and complex accidental compositions.

House portraits done on commission or for Pleasure.  Commissions for house portraits a specialty.

The subtle colors of early spring with maple blush and lingering snow.

The season of lush vegetation and late wildflowers in sultry summer air with distance softened by haze.
